Pele The Parrot Who Had A Head Injury
And recovered in less than 48 hours
Pele is my own bird. Sadly, accidents happen, and Pele tried to fly through a closing door and ended up with a head injury because she didn't make the gap in time (as seen in the images).

Unfortunately, that very day; I was without a car, was poorly myself AND the specialist Avian vet, which was over an hours drive away (on a clear run, down the M6, past the Midlands) did not have any emergency appointments available.
However, I am well known at this vets because I Safe House birds and so I did manage to discuss Pele and her injury with the vet at length on the telephone just after it happened. Whilst we talked I sent the vet an email with pictures and videos I had taken. The advice was to keep her warm and quiet and if she made it, the next available appointment was hers in less than 48 hours later. The main worry was swelling on the brain and seizures.
Avian Specific Vets: Birds cannot be treated by regular vets because their systems are so specific and unique.

Reiki: So, all I could do was as the vet instructed and I offered Reiki healing.

This is the video I took on my phone whilst sat waiting in the vets reception less than 48 hours later. The vet was amazed and so were the nursing staff when they saw her, because they had seen the 'real time' pictures of the injury just after it happened. A few hours later, after receiving Reiki, the swelling has disappeared and the feathers have grown back (watch until the end to see both sides of her head- only a short clip).
